13 years ago, in the 1997, was promulgated a law about the measurement of acoustic noise in the sorroundings of the airports.

The authorities would have had to determine in few months 3 zones, A, B and C, according to noise impact and relative number of inferred decibel.

As often happens in Italy, many years have passed among various meetings of official commissions without any result.

Our Committe is fighting from more than five years complaining this failure to comply with the law.

The first objective achieved after our protests has been the installation of noise detection units. These stations in Italy may be made only by public institutions and not by individuals.

Decibels measured by these stations were artwork by a study of the Lazio region called Cristal.

The conclusions of the study Cristal were clear: to reach the noise levels required by law, the flights must be reduced to a maximum of 60 per day (from a current number of over 200).

At least, from the beginning of 2010, it was convened a Services’ Conference, which, after long discussions and Technical Commissions finally established the noise parameters that have to be respected around Ciampino airport.

Now our problem is to enforce these parameters of the law: from too many times we have had to press the authorities in defense of citizens' health  and rights.

We got a first win, but the struggle continues.

Greetings to all compaigners
